List Of The Best And Must Visit Places When You Go To Paris

If you are preparing for a trip to Paris, there are a number of places you should definitely consider visiting. These include the Gare d’Orsay, the Ile Saint-Louis, and the Centre Georges Pompidou. You can also take in the sights of the Sacre-Coeur Basilica and Montmartre.

Ile Saint-Louis

Ile Saint-Louis is one of the most historic districts of Paris. Its streets are remarkably similar to those of four centuries ago. As a result, it is a great place to experience the French lifestyle. This island is home to a number of beautiful sites.

One of the most impressive sites on the island is the Church of Saint-Louis en l’Ile. This church was started in 1664. The building is large and impressive. Inside, the church has a surprisingly large wooden door decorated with angels.

Another site to see on Ile Saint-Louis is the Holocaust Memorial. It is located next to Notre Dame and honors 200,000 French Jews who perished in Nazi concentration camps.

Sacre-Coeur Basilica

Located in the Montmartre neighbourhood of Paris, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. It is also home to a crypt. The crypt contains statues, religious artifacts, and tombs.

The basilica was designed by Paul Abadie and was completed in the early-1900s. Construction of the church took four decades. It was delayed during the First World War, but was finally finished.

Located on top of the hill, Sacre-Coeur was a pagan worship site. Roman temples were built here, and Gallic druids used the mountain for rituals.

The basilica is a major tourist attraction. However, it is not open all the time. Nightly adoration is only allowed after 11pm.

Montmartre

The Montmartre area of Paris is one of the most popular areas in the city. It’s famous for its artistic heritage and pretty stone buildings, but it also feels like a lost part of Brittany. In fact, it was home to some of the greatest artists of the 20th century, including Pablo Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Vincent van Gogh.

One of the best things to do in Montmartre is to take in the views from the dome of the Sacre-Coeur Basilica. This cathedral is on a hilltop and offers 360-degree panoramic views of the city. If you visit in the early morning or at sunset, you’ll have the most breathtaking view.

Gare d’Orsay

Whether you’re visiting Paris for the first time or you’re a seasoned traveler, one of the best places to visit is the Musee d’Orsay. Located on the Left Bank of the Seine, this museum is a must-see for anyone who is interested in French art.

The Musee d’Orsay is home to some of the most famous pieces in the world. It is one of the most visited museums in the city, with over 3.6 million visitors per year. Featuring works by artists such as Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Degas, and Gaugin, the museum is the perfect destination for art lovers.

In addition to the permanent collection, the Musee d’Orsay is known for its special exhibitions and displays. For instance, in 2017, the museum hosted an exhibition of the works of Huysmans, an art critic who lived in Paris during the 1800s. Presented by Francesco Vezzoli, the show features some of the most striking works of art from the period.

Centre Georges Pompidou

Centre Georges Pompidou is one of the most popular places to visit in Paris. This iconic museum is home to over ten thousand works of art. It has a wide variety of dining options, including a rooftop restaurant with spectacular views of the city. You can also shop at the Printemps design boutique, located on the first floor of the building.

The building itself has a high-tech, futuristic feel. Inside the Centre Pompidou, you will find a number of exhibitions, a library and a performance area. There are also several gift shops, as well as a cafe.

A visit to the Centre Pompidou will usually take about two hours. Tickets for entry cost about 11 euros. Those visiting in the morning should arrive at least thirty minutes before the time of opening.

Louis Vuitton Foundation

The Louis Vuitton Foundation is a privately owned art space in Paris. This cultural centre is dedicated to the development of contemporary art. It has a permanent collection of modern artwork, as well as temporary international modern art exhibitions.

The building was designed by Frank Gehry, who also designed the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. His innovative design required nearly 19,000 white fiber-reinforced concrete panels and 3,600 curved glass panels.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton is open from October to May. While the majority of its exhibits are permanent, there are also several special events throughout the year. Some of these include concerts, children’s art workshops, and storytelling workshops.
